Mission O14

Dresden 2014

Spartnic

As a continuation of their activities around Art and Space Exploration, Max Grüter, Melanie Richter and Kay Kaul founded the art group –SPARTNIC- ‘Weightless Artistic Association’ Membership is granted exclusively to Artist who’s conviction has proved them worthy. The ‘Weightless Artists Association’ have conceptualised the presentation and the marketing of Editions of works made by the members of the Art Group SPARTNIC.

(R)evolution

Since the first exhibition project; Running Mars 2004, the following activities, and especially with the planned Parcours Project ’Mission 014, at the Ostral in 2014, a key subject matter emerges : Evolution through Revolution; development through the human drive and desire for the new and a new way of thinking. We see our projects primarily as a calling to brake through boarders and to explore the new. Revolution is a paradigm change, a sudden transformation, a brake with what came before. Evolution is a continual forward development, both subjects are central to Space and Art exploration. The new spheres conquered and exposed by art and science make us realise that our ‘every-day’ lives are being revolutionised. The inspiration between the two disciplines and the interaction of the participating artists is the object of the exhibition project 014 in Dresden.

Presentation

The exhibition concept of ‘Mission 014’ by SPARTNIC takes place in a darkened room where the art work is distributed in a parcours. The separate stations are singularly illuminated and appear as stars or galaxies scattered in the darkened space. Images will be presented as translucents or as projections. Three Dimensional work requires a floating presentation. All works will be contained within the room where the walls are darkened so as not to visually contain the space. Through an ‘intelligent ‘ light control system the visitors movements appear to influence each ‘Art Galaxy’. The path through the exhibition should simulate a discovery voyage through space that the traveller can control him/herself. The Art pieces displayed at each station reveal distinctive different aspects of the following themes: realisation/experience, change, and the development or unfolding of life. Through the use of a QR-code more information can be acquired about each Art piece and Artist.

Artists

At the present stage of the projects planning we want to have a pool of 16 Artists, generally covering all disciplines: sculpture, object, installation, Media art, grafics, Graffiti, painting, Photo, film. As participant numbers grow and project plans thicken we propose to chose 2 works per Artist and conduct an interview procedure with work and Artist. There are also plans and possibilities for Site specific installations, new group work, happenings/actions to take place in and around the Parcours at Ostral 14.

Spartnic
